Book Club: Michal Ajvaz - The Luxembourg Gardens

Because we all need a little spark of magic for the beginning of the week.
Today, let me introduce you to Michal Ajvaz's novel 'The Luxembourg Gardens' and walk you through the author's world of magic realism.

The story follows a series of events experienced by Parisian teacher Paul during the summer holidays. One morning, while procrastinating instead of working, he hits the wrong key on his computer keyboard and misspells a word.
In his browser he gets only one search result for the unknown word Okitubis and instead of shutting it down and returning to his daily routine, Paul clicks on it and decides to explore the crazy and surreal story which unfolds in front of him which results in the best and the worst moments of his life.

Life with a dog: Sunset at the dog beach, Kostrena

There are many things in life for which I used to say: 'I will never...' and hanging out at the dog beach is pretty much one of them. Obviously at that time I didn't think that a certain dog is gonna walk into my life. A crazy beagle named Frida who's been my bestie for almost 11 years. But we'll talk about that story some other time, especially if you'd like to hear it.

Now, the end of the week is finally here so it's time for some seaside dog action. Let's dive in.

One thing I miss from my fashion blogging days

It's been quite a while since the last time I took and outfit shot.
Actually, as you can see, my hair was pretty red at the time and now I'm back to my blonde roots again. But considering there's no photo to really prove it, I could be pink and no one would know. Or care, really.

Blogging reality most people know nothing about

I have been blogging on and off since my high school days.
The great adventure started out with bunch of diary like stories, firstly because I was a teenager living in a small town I didn't like but also because I actually LOVE writing about my life, which probably makes me a total weirdo but I promise I'm not.
Somehow I've always loved sharing my personal experiences and if, along the way that makes you feel a certain emotion, it's a huge success for me. So I always kept on writing and creating until it became a career.

The fabulous blogosphere is one awesome universe, but things have changed drastically since the day I clicked on 'publish this post' button for the very first time so many years ago and instantly fell in love with that unknown new world. Seriously, that was a decade ago! I literally grew up while blogging.

Book Club: Alek Popov - Mission London

“Most often it is writers in the West that write stories about the East, and I think we have the right to do the same thing coming from the other direction”

Let's start this week with the bittersweet literary awesomeness.
Mission London has been on my to-read list for years but somehow I never picked it up until a few days ago. Why, I have absolutely no idea but I'm so glad I finally did because it truly would be a shame if I managed to let this one pass me by.

NEW VIDEO - IN BED WITH FRIDA

As requested by some of you beagle lovers out there, today on my YOUTUBE channel you can find a video about queen Frida, who loves her (not ours but hers) bed more than anything in the world. That is, unless there's food in the game - cheese, pizza, coconut, pineapple or bunch of other favourites of hers.
Frida is beyond awesome and I couldn't have asked for a better and cooler dog but you already know that.

April favourites & May goals

Truth be told, I'm still not feeling the whole May vibe. Maybe it's because of the constant rain which turned my beautiful and lovely April into such a dull and moody month. Let's hope that by tomorrow all of this will change and we'll finally be able to ditch sweaters and jackets and hop into short sleeves and Startas sneakers. Yes.

But even though my favourite month ever wasn't exactly as sparkling as I imagined it to be, I still loved it. And here's why.
