Yesterday morning I wrote on Instagram: 'Not sure do I miss it already but I sure as hell miss the view.'
So yeah, we've returned to Rijeka, our Clio packed with things (I don't even how how we always manage to do it no matter where we go), us and Frida exhausted but feeling super happy about the entire little vacation. It was short, sweet and I brought back loads of lovely memories with me, some of which I'm gonna share with you today.
If you're following me on Instagram, then you're already familiar with all of these photos but since the weather has been amazing and the entire city looked so photogenic, I simply had to share them in a bigger resolution. Because there aren't many places in the world that look equally stunning during all kinds of weather conditions, right?
I woke up to this view above on our very first morning back home. It was really early, the entire city was almost mute and I sat by the window enjoying the scene, thinking how I still haven't managed to find another apartment with a similar view (the one in Zagreb is overlooking another building and this one in Rijeka where I'm currently living isn't too shabby but when compared to this, it doesn't even stand a chance). Yes, this is the view from our family apartment and I have been waking up to it for more than 15 years. I think it's really understandable why I have such extreme high standards when it comes to beautiful views. Šibenik made me do it.
On our last day we went to the little village of Ružić (in Drniš area) where my grandfather was born and where he and my grandmother have a perfect little countryside getaway house nowdays. Since it's cherry season at the moment (yes to perfect timing!) and they're pretty much my favourite fruit after strawberries and pineapple, we spent the entire afternoon climbing up several trees filled with big, juicy and amazing cherries while Frida ran around us and enjoyed every second of the day. She has always been the biggest fan of our family trips to Ružić (cca 40 mins drive from Šibenik) because of the infinite green fields and loads of fresh air.
Most of the time while we were in Šibenik I shot analogue, I think it's mostly because I've never done it in my hometown so I felt that in a way I have to make it up to it. Today I'm taking the films to the lab to have it scanned so stay tuned for definitely one more post about this little dalmatian adventure. Until then I hope you've enjoyed this little iPhone diary I decided to start the week with.
And yes, happy new week, hope it's gonna be amazing for all of us!
