Countless posts, ideas, photographs, stories, people, cities and adventures.
And so much love from day one.
But today we're not here to talk about hearts, unicorns and glitter. Even though I've been living and breathing this blog for the last four years, I've been present in blogosphere for around ten years (I first mentioned it a few months ago when I wrote about blogging reality most people know nothing about), which means that I've experienced first hand all the changes that have happened in the last decade (God, I sound so old). And today I'm sharing them with you, because sharing is caring so let's get going.
It's a real, hard work and it never sleeps.
Everything you post online with time shapes your media presence. Be careful not to create a wrong image about yourself.
Not everyone is gonna support you and that's ok.
Never compare yourself to others. It's a death trap.
Your voice and skills are your most important assets. Use them, don't waste them.
Never stop learning, even if sometimes you don't feel like doing it.
You don't need to be present on every social media.
Always stay true to yourself and listen to your instinct.
Don't publish a post unless you're 100% satisfied with it.
Freebie is never just a freebie. Choose your connections and opportunities wisely.
Know who you are and where you wanna be someday.
Obsessing over Analytics isn't gonna get you anywhere.
Invest in your own domain and design. Stick to the platform that works the best for you.
Self-promotion isn't a bad thing, it's a bloody necessity and it doesn't mean you're an egomaniac.
Dare to dream big.
It's more than ok to change things if they don't feel right for you anymore.
Every post should make you feel proud. Otherwise, what's the point?
Always respond to comments and engage with your readers, community is everything.
Take a break when you need a break.
Sometimes you'll feel like shit. That's a part of the journey.
And at times you'll want to quit. That's also a part of the journey.
Know your priorities.
Work really hard. Write down every single stupid idea that comes to your mind.
Always look for inspiration.
Know when to disconnect.
Strict niche isn't something you need in order to succeed.
Never publish a post without checking it once again first.
Your blog will change with you.
And don't ever apologize for that change.
Write about things you love the most. And do it with passion.
Don't strive for perfection but authenticity.
Work on letting all those fears go.
And also learn how to let go of things that somehow don't work for you or your blog.
Don't be ashamed of introducing people to your blog - it's your own little paradise and a work of art so treat it that way.
Don't ever allow anyone to make you feel inferior.
Know how to recognize the moment when a hobby becomes a potential business idea.
Spread positivity, but don't force it. Sometimes a bad day is simply a bad day. After all, you're only human.
Believe in yourself and dare to be different.
Never, never, never give up on a dream.
