Remember how in one of my previous posts I mentioned the huge process of reorganizing my closet and getting rid of pretty much everything so I can start from scratch?
Well, say hello to currently my only one pair of jeans which I found last winter at H&M Divided after spending what seemed like an eternity in search to find a proper pair of jeans that could replace the legendary Mango ones (whoa, it's been months since the last time I mentioned them!).
I think it's gonna be fun to see what style choices I'm gonna be making in the upcoming months because my closet has never been emptier (by choice!) and I'm not allowing myself to spend any more money on items I don't absolutely LOVE and from BRANDS whose vibe suit me PERFECTLY. That actually means buying less but they'll probably be a bit more expensive items than before.
I've had this image of my ideal personal style in my head for years but somehow I would always end in some second best options along with some beyond awesome finds as well and whenever I would open my closet, I would be like blah, I don't feel like wearing half of these things.
During this crazy life journey of selfdiscovery (sounds like such a pretentious word, right?), I also learned what I want to wear on a daily basis and what is not for me.
Even though I have experimented a lot with bunch of different styles, this one like today's outfit, is essentially who I am. I've always loved a bit edgy and rocker vibe, darker colours, silver jewelry, sneakers, pitch black sunglasses, ripped jeans, cool t-shirts, leather and bright lipstick.
And no matter how cool it might've looked at times, I am not into colorful looks, neon and flourescent anything, second hand items and even vintage most of the time (but I didn't threw away any of my vintage finds because they'll always be super special to me).
You know what's also cool?
With this new clothing situation in my life, I've rediscovered my love for outfit posts. I really want to document this ongoing adventure and see where it takes me, how is my wardrobe gonna look like in a few months or even next Summer, that's something I'm really excited about.
I also have so many things I want to write about that is connected with personal style blogging and the evolution of your own style but I'm taking it one step at a time.
This look was build from many old and some new favourites, so let's have a closer look.
The newest ones are this perfect PEPE JEANS t-shirt I bought at SHOE-BE-DO along with the striped one I wore in some of my summer outfits posts and they were actually the first pieces I bought when this whole reorganizing thing started.
Then one day I woke up and realized - where have all my bracelets gone? And since I'm quite petite and skinny it's actually quite hard to find the ones I like but luckily my prayers were answered when I stumbled across this little beauty at KAMENA DUGA and I've been wearing it ever since.
And now the oldies!
See the necklace I'm wearing?
It's the one I wore to my PROM, we bought it in Zagreb but I absolutely can't remember where because it was (take a deep breath, Matea) a decade ago.
Fast forward a few years after that moment and here we are, back in Zagreb, where I was a film directing student and a total shopping maniac (I literally had an apartment filled with clothes and shoes) so that's when this MISS SELFRIDGE denim shirt happened. That was the era when Croatia still had a Topshop and all those cool stores (a moment of silence) and I found this shirt on a crazy sale one day while I was just browsing the shops for the sake of...well, browsing.
And then the RAY-BAN mania started all over again.
Suddenly wayfarer model was everywhere and everyone started copying it and the whole town was wearing it (pretty much the same like it happened with Converse) and I found myself wanting them SO BADLY. Not because they were cool and trendy (I couldn't care less about that) but because they were the perfect sunglasses for my lifestyle. And that's how our love affair began, resulting in several other models and colours throughout years but I never loved any on those as much as I love this classical one.
