Behind the scenes of 'Geography of Tenderness'

A few days ago I talked about the evolution of our 'GEOGRAPHY OF TENDERNESS' documentary series because I wanted to share a bit of its background so you can learn more about the project and today I've decided to share a little behind the scenes from one of the episodes so you can check out the vibe of the story before it hits my Youtube channel in a few weeks - maybe even days!

One Sunglasses to Rule Them All

Some things in life never fail me: Big Mac large menu (with Coke naturally), loud music when I feel like crap, spaghetti with pesto, bright red lipstick and my favourite sunglasses.

Discover Your Inner Wanderer with Loops & Beads

Ever since I was a little girl I strongly knew I wanted to work for myself when I grow up. I looked up to my dad who always kept running from one movie set to another, constantly on the road and always bringing home with him a bunch of amazing stories from all these adventures. But I had no desire to be a cameraman, this little girl wanted to be a director and a writer.

Flash forward to the present day and along with making those two dreams come true, I also added a two 'bonuses' - a blogger (I love that word and will never be ashamed of it) and a photographer. Why I'm mentioning this, you may ask?

Still frame from one of the episodes

Let me ask you a question: When I say 'childhood', what's the first thing that comes to your mind?

Simplicity? Laughter? Family? Love? Toys?

Photographing Interiors - Charming Little Airbnb Studio Apartment in Zagreb

Here's one thing about freelance life - when I'm not filming (a movie, series, web-series, promos etc), you'll find me somewhere shooting (places, people, various stories etc). Always on the road, always moving.

Birthday Special - 29 things I've learned in these crazy 29 years

Oh boy, I guess I'm not a little girl anymore.
Being 29 feels kinda weird and much older than I can identify with but truth be told - the only moment I actually thought about it was a few seconds ago, when I started composing this sentence.

Style Diary: Exploring Krka National Park

It was one of those first warm mornings after a long period of winter that make you think 'yesss, spring is coming!' and all of a sudden you feel super excited to get dressed again, even if we're only talking about easy, casual and comfy outfit that's perfect for a long and wonderful day in nature spent with the people I love the most.

Zagreb Open Call for Geography of Tenderness

Because our favourite old toys are priceless.

My dear friends, this most definitely isn't a secret anymore - last week, after months and months of brainstorming and preparations, we've officially started filming our documentary series called 'GEOGRAPHY OF TENDERNESS' (I talked about it in my previous post in a more detailed way so check it out in case you've missed it).

Beautiful day at Krka National Park

So here's a thing: KRKA national park is one of my happy places, no matter if I'm there to work (I've worked on a whole bunch of promotional videos and documentaries) or simply to enjoy the nature with some of the most amazing people in my life.

That morning, while we were wondering should we take a short trip to Split because the weather was too amazing to waste the day by doing something boring, my best friend BRANKA sent me a text that contained a photo of the waterfalls on that perfectly sunny morning.

Zadar Diary, part two

After years and years of visiting ZADAR solely for work purposes (directing promotional films for tourist board and the University, directing a documentary film about the Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun etc.), this time I had the city all to myself and that sense of freedom enabled me to enjoy all the places I love the most to the max.

Style Diary: Paklenica National Park

Upon our arrival in ZADAR, one of the things we decided to do while we were staying there was to drive somewhere outside of the city because both of us can't stay in one place for a long time (more than two days to be precise haha) plus we love to explore everything in our surroundings. I immediatelly suggested PAKLENICA NATIONAL PARK because the last time I visited it was probably 15 years ago (shame on me) and yet I adore spending time in nature. The plan was made within minutes.

Do You Have a Story To Tell?

I had a documentary film professor back in my Academy days who used to say 'Why should I care?' every time we pitched an idea about a certain topic to him.

Zadar Diary

A week filled with love, laughter, photography, wandering around places in town I love the most, those weird but insanely enhanting sounds of the sea organ, wonderful sunsets and colours of the sky...welcome to ZADAR, a place that's so incredibly dear to my heart.

Style Diary: Golden Hour in Zadar

Alfred Hitchcock once said that ZADAR has the best sunsets in the world.
Although I don't agree with the filmmaking legend because every sunset is different and there are so many beyond amazing places around the globe, Zadar holds a very special place in my heart and I always love coming back to it.

February - Posts You Enjoyed Reading the Most

Even though it's the shortest month of the year, good old and messy February almost always feels like a neverending adventure. Well, this year that's (finally) not the case for me because days have flown by incredibly fast, so many little and some big things have happened and I succeded in what I needed the most - getting some rest and quality me time after months and months of insanely hard work.

Next week I'm off to a new adventure so that's the reason why today I've decided to reflect on which posts you loved the most this month, before we move on to a new chapter called 'March'. And boy I can't wait for it to begin.

The Great Escape from Malesnica to Centre (Zagreb)

'Your happiness and well-being are the only things that matter and don't allow anyone or anything mess it up. If you wake up feeling like today is the worst day of your life, do whatever it takes to shake things up.

Plot twist, guys.
You are in charge of your life, your decisions, your emotions and attitude towards everything - don't make choices that make you feel miserable.'

Embracing Change

Last night I dreamt that I was dying.
I was standing in front of a mirror (if I remember it correctly), begging for a chance to live.

The dream was twisted as hell and scary as fuck. I woke up before 6 AM, completely traumatized and couldn't go back to sleep. But the good thing about it was the fact that the second I opened my teary eyes I thought about him. Not God if that's what you're thinking, but a man. One quite special man. I remembered some of our awesome moments together and somehow I felt better. More calm.

365 Days of Love and Happiness (week 1)

This time it happened out of nowhere.

It was a particularly lazy afternoon, I was reading a book in bed, feeling slightly sleepy when suddenly a thought came to my head. Uninvited, unexpected and in a way - unwanted, because there's nothing easy or simple about this project. Yet I found myself super excited for it, which is almost impossible to believe because the last time I did it was also the day when I promised to myself I'm never doing it again.

Flash forward and here I am, more happy than ever to be riding the waves of this incredible adventure once again. But this time with a feeling. Welcome aboard!

One Outfit Post That Changed Everything

My first thought this morning was not to publish these photos.

I made a first selection then started to cut down more and more photos from it until I was left with ten, which is the usual number (sometimes less, never more) of photos per style post. But something felt off the entire time. I looked at them and something about the whole mood didn't suit me at all.

What do to when words fail you

For the past couple of days I have been fighting this beast called no-matter-what-I-do-I-simply-can't-write-a-decent-post. It's been killing the hell out of me and the worst thing is - I have no issues with inspiration and motivation, there's plenty of it in this little head of mine.

But when I sit in front of the laptop, words fail to come out.
Sounds familiar?

How I Fell in Love with Blogging

Most of the time I completely suck at remembering things - I always tend to say that my brain is insanely selective when it comes to what's gonna stay and what's gonna go - but one thing I remember like it had happened yesterday was the second I decided to start blogging, which is without a doubt one of my best decisions ever.

-13 degrees celsius

Let me just start by saying how I literally cried while these pictures were taken because it was that FREEZING plus the northern wind was blowing so the entire experience was actually quite dramatic (and awesome yay).

Director's Cut: February

Zagreb, Malesnica, 2:34 PM, gloomy and cloudy, 4 degrees celsius.

I just came back to this incredibly shitty place that my friend and I have been calling 'home' for the past month, after a long walk around the neigborhood in search of something to eat. Sounds like nothing special but finally, after days and days of absolutely freezing weather we've climbed above zero. It almost feels like spring. I walked around without tears in my eyes and my nose, ears, hands and knees didn't hurt at all.

Pop of Red on a Freezing Cold Day

There's something special about Winter.
Dark and foggy mornings when you're drinking hot tea and looking through the window only to see silhouettes of the surrounding buildings; soft grey tones and blue hues that make bright colors pop like crazy; oversized jumpers, fluffy socks and cosy blankets; that crisp air that helps you clear your head...beautiful and priceless.

And your favourite clothing items.
In my case, the star of my winter wardrobe is this SCOTCH & SODA jacket that I tend to call the best parka in the world. Because it truly is a little red masterpiece.

Scotch & Soda jacket
Mjus boots
Zara scarf
Mango sweater
H&M jeans
Superdry beanie

Behind the Scenes of BONTON, part two

Two weeks ago I finally started sharing BTS of my beloved Bonton (in case you've missed the first part, here's the link) and today we're continuing the story in the same tone.

So happy new week, my dear friends and let's get the party started!

Morning vibes at National park 'Krka'

When your sunglasses aren't around...
With Leo, my friend Nevena's golden retriever and the loveliest dog ever.
Making mess in the nature and trying not to look like it's freezing outside.
View from the editing room.
Are we done yet?
Leo wants to go home. Filmmaking is boring.
The famous room no.11
You can watch BONTON through Monday-Friday on HRT1 around 18:05 and you can also follow our adventures online, on HRTi where new episodes are added on a daily basis.
